Overview
A graduate of the bachelor's study Chemical Engineering programme at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava can:
- identify chemical and transport processes in chemical technology facilities.
- effectively use computer technology to solve chemical engineering problems focused on the transfer of heat, mass and momentum in the MATLAB software environment.
- characterize the principles of mutual transformation of different kinds of energy, e.g. transformation conditions of chemical energy of fuels to useful work
- compile mathematical description of the physical mechanism of momentum transfer for quantitative description of flow in selected technological processes.
- characterize basic principles of measurement of technological quantities and management of technological processes.
Employability of graduates
Study programme Chemical Engineering is the only study programme in Slovakia in the field of study Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technologies. A graduate of the bachelor's study programme may continue his/her engineering studies in the follow-up study programme Chemical Engineering or in related programmes.
The graduate acquires the ability to operate chemical, pharmaceutical, food processing, or biotechnological production in all countries of the European Union as an operator, technologist and in basic management positions requiring a university degree.
The graduate can streamline operations based on their analysis using chemical engineering calculations of chemical and physical processes in standard types of industrial equipment, work with chemical engineering research and development equipment, collect and process data using computer technology, participate in new product development, understand the principles of technological safety in production companies.
