At the European Law School from Maastricht University, you will learn about legal issues through a comparative and European perspective, examining them beyond the solutions of a single legal system. You will compare and evaluate the choices made by lawmakers' in various legal systems, and examine how international law, EU law, and national legal systems interact. Additionally, you will explore how societal factors impact laws, delving into global issues like sustainability, migration, security, and technology. Rather than adopting a national legal mindset, you will collaborate with your peers to gain a nuanced understanding of the law in a national, European and international context.

Careers 

• There is a high demand for professionals with a European Law School degree, in particular due to their unique comparative and European legal perspective . Our graduates choose to specialize in a range of specific areas and as such work all over the world in diverse professional settings in the public and private sector. ELS alumni work as legal professionals at the national, European or international level. Some of our graduates also decide to move outside of the legal field and work in an area like political science, economics or international relations.
