Overview
This programme in Environmental Engineering at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague offers a deeper knowledge of earth sciences, environmental chemistry, and remediation of environmental contamination including developing an understanding of the behavior of different pollutants in the global environment.
Czech University of Life Sciences Prague students will become skilled in the use of different software while learning how to process environmental data. Within the first two years of study, they will take a variety of seminar and field workshop classes.
In these classes, students will become competent in applying their newly acquired knowledge and professional skills and improve their communication, teamwork, and intellectual flexibility. In the third year of study, students will select elective courses in order to strengthen their desired focus.
The aim of the programme is to provide complex education in the area of environmental sciences within the context of the greater EU.
Graduates of the Environmental Engineering programme will be able to prepare management plans for natural resources, such as soil and water with a comprehensive understanding of the processes that contribute to global climate change.
The study programme focuses on introducing the student to science and contemporary research linked with a practical application for how to best reduce impacts to the natural and built environment. Graduates will be able to understand a variety of topics related to environmental protection, including recent challenges arising from climate change.
Graduates will become skilled in how to best mitigate the negative impacts associated with climate change, and more importantly, how to propose appropriate measures in order to improve the current and future state of the environment.
Graduates will become competent in how to communicate and work in team-oriented jobs and combine the results of different practical documentation such as
- spatial plans,
- management plans,
- EIA,
- SEA,
- conservation policy,
- or similar governmental and regulatory studies.
They will become knowledgeable in evaluating differently levels of environmental pollution, understanding the implications of different parameters and (bio) indicators.
