Overview
Students who complete the study programme successfully are then guaranteed a place in a number of undergraduate degree courses in the humanities and social sciences at the University of Malta .
The study programmes are designed to bridge the gap between a high school learning environment and the demands of an undergraduate course.
The Foundation Studies in Humanities programme from the University of Malta presents a comprehensive introduction to discipline-specific academic English language skills and terminology, study skills, and the fundamental concepts in the study of the humanities and the social sciences in a learner-centred environment designed to promote the learner’s autonomy through task-based learning, interactive learning, self-access, and small-group contact time for learning support.
The programme is also designed to introduce learners to a thriving multicultural community of students and promotes a learning environment that is diverse and inclusive.
The humanities study programme will provide learning in the core academic English language skills, a modern foreign language, history, introductory courses to philosophy and the social sciences, psychology, communications, research and critical thinking skills.
