Overview

The general educational objectives of the Finance (Hons) programme at Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College are to enable students to benefit from a broad-based education as they pursue a business education with a specialisation in Finance, and to develop their problem-solving, decision-making, and innovative thinking skills to handle real-life challenges. 

Accordingly, students will be required to study a range of general education, business and finance courses to achieve a balanced liberal arts and business education. 

This is consistent with UIC’s mission of providing its students with a whole person education that prepares them for lifelong learning. Business courses are focused on providing the knowledge and skills that are expected of today’s business and business leaders. Finance courses provide a specialization in the major.

Career Prospects

To meet the continuing demand for finance professionals in China, the Program offers courses covering a wide spectrum of areas including Corporate Finance, Investment Management, Future and Options Markets, Multinational Finance, Financial Risk Management, Financial Forecasting, Banking and Credit, Applied Econometrics, and Financial Market in China. 

Graduates are well prepared to pursue furtherance of studies for postgraduate degrees or careers in fields relating to banking, financial management, financial research, or financial analysis. 

They will be well positioned to work for private and public organizations in mainland China and Hong Kong, or firms in other countries, such as financial institutions, investment companies, consultancy companies, CPA firms, and so on.

General Requirements

Mainland China Applicants:

Mainland Chinese students who have sat the P.R.C. National College Entrance Examination (NCEE) of the current year, and have met the college entrance benchmark are eligible to apply.

Overseas Applicants:

An applicant from overseas other than Hong Kong or Macau may apply for admission with qualification acceptable to the College, and will be considered on an individual basis.
