Please note effective 20 March 9 pm AEDT, the Australian Government implemented new travel bans and restrictions whereby only Australian citizens, Permanent Residents, their spouses and dependants could enter the country. For students who would like to study a course that’s offered on campus, we will work with you to enrol you online first and transition you to campus once the travel restrictions change.
You will create imaginative and original characters and use these assets to develop immersive experiences in an industry that is bigger than the music and movie sectors put together! As well, you will collaborate with other game artists and programmers to develop an industry-level game.
The Game Design and Development programme from Torrens University Australia was designed collaboratively with subject-matter experts from Media Design School in Auckland, New Zealand, one of the top 3 digital design schools in the world. It brings together art, technology and people skills, such as collaboration and communication, and from Day One you’ll bring to you it your imagination, ingenuity and passion! Throughout the course, you will work alongside lecturers who’ll offer practical industry insights, and you’ll develop enhanced skills in 2D, 3D, animation, environment art, character art, and an understanding of user experience in games. Working in teams, you’ll develop electronic games across multi-platforms, including online, mobile and console in a similar environment to a real-world studio.
As well as giving you practical skills, knowledge and design capability, the Bachelor of Creative Technologies: Game Art also encourages you to take a holistic approach to enhance your abilities in soft skills, such as communication, commercial acumen, and an understanding of business realities. Our graduates’ experiences prove that these skills strengthen your job prospects as you start your brilliant career in Game Art. Everything you create during the course can go towards producing a high-quality portfolio of games-related assets to impress future employers. Plus, you can show that you have published a professional-level game even before you graduated!
