Overview

This programme responds to the rapidly growing need for sustainable hybrid technology solutions in modern industry. It covers interdisciplinary topics from essential fields of engineering, enhanced by language studies, entrepreneurship training and transferable skills.

The Technology and Engineering Science offered by LUT University  gives you the competence to solve multidisciplinary engineering problems, manage projects, work in multicultural teams or become an entrepreneur. The programme provides extensive hands-on experience and applies theories and techniques from a broad range of engineering fields to practice through interdisciplinary projects.

In this Bachelor's programme you will focus on essential and applicable engineering disciplines, integrating studies of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, energy technology and environmental technology. As a student, you can freely choose a specialisation during your second academic year.

Programme Structure

The programme includes general, intermediate specialisation, and language and communication studies.

General studies (101 ECTS credits), include courses on engineering mathematics and physics, engineering mechanics, engineering thermodynamics, 3D modelling and technical documentation, electrical power engineering and electrical drives, power plant engineering, business and sustainability.

Intermediate specialisation studies (64 ECTS credits). In the second year, you will specialise in one of four fields:

  • electrical engineering
  • energy technology
  • mechanical engineering
  • environmental technology

  • In addition, applicants to Bachelor's programmes in the field of technology are required to present a language test certificate as proof of their Finnish language skills (the required proficiency level is 5).

Funding

  • For the first academic year, there are no scholarships available.
  • For the second academic year 50% Tuition Fee Scholarship will be granded for the students successfully completing the studies on the first academic year (min. of 60 ECTS credits)
  • For the third academic year 100% Tuition Fee Scholarship will be granded for the students successfully completing the studies on the first and second academic year (min. of 60 ECTS credits/year)
