Overview
Studying the Molecular Biology with a Modern Language course offered at The University of Manchester you will learn about the intricacies of crucial biological molecules, offering a blend of theoretical insight and practical laboratory skills. You will explore the complexities of DNA, RNA, and proteins, alongside the molecular processes guiding cellular functionality, integrating key concepts from biochemistry, genetics, and cell biology.
The program highlights how breakthroughs in molecular biology are revolutionizing fields like medicine, agriculture, and biotechnology.
You will learn how these advancements are unravelling the molecular underpinnings of various diseases and enabling the use of genetic engineering to produce essential products. This updated curriculum reflects the latest developments and applications in molecular biology, ensuring you are at the forefront of scientific innovation and discovery
Career opportunities
Graduates from modern language courses are extremely desirable to employers who require significant relevant work experience.
In the growing field of international bioscience research collaborations, graduates with a good command of a foreign language are at a distinct advantage.
Many of the graduates secure jobs as researchers working in universities, pharmaceutical and bioscience companies and institutes.
Some of the graduates progress into laboratory-based careers in clinical or technical roles that do not involve research.
The transferable skills you will develop will also leave you well equipped for a wide range of careers outside the lab.
Accreditation
Our course has Advanced Accreditation from the Royal Society of Biology , which recognises academic excellence in the biosciences and highlights degrees that educate the research and development leaders and innovators of the future.
