During the Bachelor Animals, Society and Business at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences, you’ll learn how animal husbandry can become more sustainable and future-proof. You’ll combine knowledge about production animals with business, studying topics such as animal health and welfare, nutrition, breeding and genetics, as well as marketing, entrepreneurship and management.

Job opportunities
After graduation, you can work in many different areas of the animal husbandry sector, from animal nutrition and genetics to business and sustainable farming. You could advise farmers, work for an international company or help livestock businesses prepare for the future.
Advisor at a cattle breeding company: work with cow genetics, support sales and advise farmers on breeding choices.
Feed consultant: advise farmers around the world on the right nutrition to keep pigs healthy and support their growth.
Business advisor: help a goat farmer in Norway develop a business plan to transition to biological farming.

General requirements
Diploma:
A secondary school diploma equivalent to the Dutch HAVO diploma is required. Examples of equivalent qualifications include the International Baccalaureate diploma or A-Levels.
English Proficiency:You need to submit one of the following valid test results. Please note: language tests must be taken at an official examination centre (tests taken online are not accepted) and must not be older than two years.
- IELTS Academic: minimum overall score of 6.0 and no subscores below 5.0
- TOEFL iBT: minimum score of 80 or 4,5 (updated score scale)
- Cambridge English scale: B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a minimum score of 169–175
- Pearson PTE Academic: minimum score of 61
- TOEIC: minimum score of 865 for listening and reading, and 335 for speaking and writing
- LanguageCert Academic: minimum score of 65
