The aim of the Pharmacy (Hons) programme from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland is to provide you with an outstanding experience that allows you to become a pharmacist, and a leader in healthcare and innovation. You will be able to demonstrate the competencies for professional practice as a pharmacist. We have revised the programme based on our years of experience, in consultation with students, patients, employers and other key stakeholders. The programme is accredited by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland for registration as a pharmacist in Ireland.
The programme at Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland will enable you to develop as a pharmacist who is a collaborator, communicator, health advocate, leader, professional and scholar. Our MPharm degree is clinically-focused from the outset. The patient is at the core of everything you learn from the first year right through to final year.
You will develop your clinical and professional skills through patient case studies and patient consultation labs. You will train in a safe, simulated environment in Europe's largest and most modern clinical simulation facility at our city centre campus.

General requirements
- Meet the minimum entry (matriculation) and specific subject requirements.
- Achieve the minimum Irish Leaving Certificate (ILC) points or equivalent.
- All students who qualify for EU admissions are eligible to apply. The local high school examinations that they have taken will be used to assess competitiveness for admission. European examinations will be converted into the equivalent Irish Leaving Certificate (ILC) points.
The applicant with the highest points score receives the first offer, the second highest receives the second offer and so on until all EU seats are filled. The allocation of School Leaver places is purely based on points.
