Key facts

The Faculty, which offers you the Military Technology (Hons) programme at the Stellenbosch University, works closely with the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) to meet what the latter spells out as its needs in terms of higher education.

The offer

The Faculty is made up of five academic schools. In two of these schools, the focus of programmes is technology-related; in two others, the focus is management-oriented. In the fifth school the focus is on security and on Africa-related studies. Our modular programmes are offered by means of three to six blocks of lectures lasting 10 working days each.

The programme consists of the compulsory research assignment and a selection of modules applicable to the focus of the study of which the total credits should be at least 90. A minimum of 50% of the total credits must be obtained at the Faculty of Military Science.

The BMil degree in Technology with a minimum final mark of 60% in each of the two major subjects in the final year, or the BMil degree in Technology and Defence Management with a minimum final mark of 60% in Computer Information Systems as well as in one of Aeronautical Science (Mil), Military Geography or Nautical Science in the final year
