Key facts

The one module consists of three topics in German Literature presented in weekly seminars. During seminars, you submit assignments and do oral presentations on specific topics. The other module comprises the writing of a research assignment for which you must do independent research.

The German (Hons) programme at the Stellenbosch University is presented on a weekly basis in four lectures and two seminars.

Career opportunities

After completing the German Honours programme successfully, students are able to conduct independent research, reflect on theoretical issues, analyse and evaluate texts (in the widest sense of the word) in the target language and within an interdisciplinary context.

Successful completion of the programme will enable students to analyse and evaluate primary and secondary texts, conduct and present independent research, critically evaluate literary and other texts, defend their research results confidently both orally and in writing.
