Overview

The purpose of the Information Systems Management programme at the Stellenbosch University is two-fold. Firstly, it aims to consolidate and deepen the knowledge and skills of students with Bachelor's degrees in the area of Informatics. In doing so the programme aims to deliver a mature graduate with a holistic understanding of information systems as socio-technical phenomena operating in the context of social collectives.

Quick Facts:

Due to the nature of the content covered in the programme it is envisaged that graduates would be more suited to managerial positions in ISM contexts, as opposed to junior developer/analyst positions. The second purpose of the programme is to introduce students to the various aspects of conducting research in the fields of Informatics, Information Systems, Knowledge Management and others. As part of the programme students are expected to conduct a research assignment (30 credits).
