The Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgy at the Namibia University of Science and Technology  aims to produce graduates that are flexible and equipped to work effectively within industrial teams or research and development groups. 


The focus of this programme in Metallurgy is consistent with the vision and commitment of the Faculty of Engineering at the Namibia University of Science and Technology and fosters competence in progressive problem solving and applied learning. Metallurgical Engineers can not only be employed within generic mining companies, but also within manufacturing/production and consulting companies, banks and insurance companies, educational and governmental institutions and many other different fields, where their versatility and ability to perform different tasks is appreciated. 

The programme outcomes reflect the required levels of competence as defined by the ECN, while the programme has also been designed to meet accreditation requirements of the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). The overall aim is to develop competent and proactive metallurgical engineers who will address diverse complex technical issues in both macro/environmental and micro/organisational settings.
