Overview
Graduates in the Cultural History program at the University of Nova Gorica may continue with graduate study programs on condition that they meet the recommendations of the university offering graduate studies.
Quick Facts:
- The fundamental goal of the study program is to educate professionals who will be able to take up work in the field of research, cultural and administrative activities, where it is necessary to master the cultural-historical knowledge and skills required by auxiliary historical sciences. The most important of them are those related to the protection of immovable and movable cultural heritage (archiving, museology, documentary), with the preservation of natural heritage in the conditions defined by urbanized civilization, and with the most diverse research of the past (from the more popular at the journalistic level to the more demanding of domestic studies and superior scientific study).
- The goal of education according to the proposed program is to form the graduate as a professionally comprehensive personality, who is able to understand and master the demanding questions of cultural history as an independent and unique phenomenon. We can expect the graduate to successfully study cultural and historical issues in relation to general and specific phenomena, which are particularly pronounced at the junction of various cultural and national spaces. The graduate will be able to establish comprehensive and formative relationships between experts from different scientific disciplines, who must necessarily cooperate in solving practical and research problems in the field of cultural history. He will also be trained for independent applied work.
