Overview
Throughout the Languages and Business Studies degree at University of Madeira, students develop the necessary skills to foster, manage and participate in cultural and linguistic initiatives related to the two foreign languages of their study focus (English and German), as well as their respective social, political, economic and business realities.
The propaedeutic nature of many of the subjects seeks to familiarize students with concepts related to Business Sciences, Economics and Tourism, fostering the acquisition of skills which enable lifelong learning with a high degree of autonomy.
They intend to help transform our students into creative, independent, responsible, professional, tolerant world citizens who are aware of the environmental, cultural and human challenges in a society which seeks sustainability and equality.
Career
Graduates will be able to: carry out national and international executive secretary duties; perform duties in central and international tourism services; cooperate in cultural industries and exchange; carry out translation services; create, organize and disclose national and international events; carry out public relation duties in multicultural contexts; carry out duties in the area of international commerce, banking and insurance companies.

The mission of Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES) is to contribute to improving the quality of Portuguese higher education, through the assessment and accreditation of higher education institutions and their study programmes.

General requirements
- Copy of ID card or passport
- Declaration under oath that the candidate does not have Portuguese nationality nor is covered by the provisions of numbers 2 and 3 of article 3 of Decree-Law no. 36/2014, of March 10, as currently worded
- Secondary education diploma or equivalent, or, if the academic qualification does not correspond to the Portuguese secondary education, a document proving that it allows, in the country where it was obtained, access to higher education
- Course syllabuses and other documents that prove the subjects taught and obtained by the candidates (not applicable when presenting proof of national exams in your country)
- Proof of completion of national exams in your country (ENEM for candidates from Brazil)
- Documentary evidence attesting proficiency in the language the study cycle is taught
- Proof that the candidate holds the Prerequisites (where applicable)
