General requirements
- Applicants will be expected to have a Level 3 qualification in Counselling Skills OR Level 2 in Counselling/Listening Skills AND alternative Level 3 qualification.
- Transferable skills and experience will be considered.
- Alternative qualifications will be considered on an individual basis, provided that the applicant can also evidence understanding and basic competence in the use of listening/counselling skills. In addition to qualifications/training requirements and due to the nature of the learning experience, applicants are also required to evidence readiness to undertake counselling/psychotherapy training.
- A robust reference confirming academic and psychological readiness is required prior to interview and readiness will also be assessed at interview. Ideally the reference will be supplied by a training tutor or employer.
