Overview

The innovative structure of the study program includes three distinct choices: a broad chemical science degree or a more specific preparation in plastic materials or textile materials.

The structure of the Chemical Science option at University of Minho is based on the recommendations of the reference document "Eurobachelor in Chemistry". In the third year of the course students may choose from a range of optional and semi-optional curricular units.

Careers

The scientific training acquired by graduates in chemistry allows access to a wide range of occupations in industry and services, including:

chemical industry with a component of chemical synthesis, such as agrochemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, polymers, paints, dyes and detergents.

Food processing, textiles, plastics, cellulose, cork, wood and leather.

Water industry.

Companies of treatment and recovery of waste.

Laboratories of chemical analyses of industries and the state.

Corporate marketing of chemicals, raw materials and material scientific or technical.

Business consulting.
