The decision to incluse the study of the theatre within the wider remit of the performing arts results from a recognition that theatrical experiences ar increasingly interdisciplinary and intercultural, challenging borders between theatre, dance, architecture and music as well as national frontiers.

- The Degree in Theatre of the University of Minho received its first students? in 2012 and offers a great variety of quality artistic training to students who wish to pursue careers as actors, directors, theatre designers, playwrights and critics.
- With this degree, they can also choose to become teachers, actors directors, stage assistants, programmers and theatrical producers.
