International Business HZ University of Applied Sciences

Overview

The International Business bachelor’s programme at HZ University of Applied Sciences is a four-year, full-time programme in Vlissingen, the Netherlands. You learn how international businesses operate and develop your knowledge of areas such as marketing, finance, supply chain management and international trade. 

From the first year, you work on real business cases and develop your skills through practical projects. You also learn an additional language and gain international experience through study and internships abroad. 

After completing the programme, you receive a Bachelor of Business Administration. 

Overview

At HZ University of Applied Sciences, you combine business knowledge with practical and international experience. You explore areas such as marketing, financial management, supply chain management, human resources, business ethics and international trade while working on real business cases.  

International experience is an important part of the programme. During your studies, you spend 2 to 3 semesters abroad for a minor or internship. You also choose an additional language — Dutch, German, French or Spanish — and continue developing your language skills throughout the programme.  

You study in Vlissingen, in the province of Zeeland in the southwest of the Netherlands. Throughout the programme, you work on projects for real companies and organisations and gain experience in entrepreneurship, international collaboration and working across cultures. 

Career opportunities 

After graduation, you can pursue a business career in the Netherlands or internationally. Possible roles include marketing professional, international market researcher, export consultant and procurement manager. Your broad business knowledge, intercultural communication skills and practical experience prepare you to work in an international business environment. 

Further study 

After completing your Bachelor of Business Administration, you can continue with a master’s programme in the Netherlands or abroad. Depending on the university and master’s programme, you may first need to complete a pre-master’s programme.
