Overview

The curriculum of the Product Analysis and Engineering Design (Honours) program of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University puts realization of innovative ideas in focus and provides synergizing study comprising fundamental engineering knowledge and skills, computer-aided product analysis tools, creativity and engineering design processes, aesthetics and human factors, leverage of existing automation/robotics technologies, enterprise skills as well as extensive practical experience at industrial partners. PAED graduates are specialized to work on projects for creating top-quality, trendy, innovative products and engineering systems of various scales to vast customers in international markets.

Real-world Experiential Learning

A special education option, the cooperative education (co-op), is provided to help PAED students learn and master the PAED knowledge better through real-world experiential learning in professional setting.

For those who are applying on the basis of A-Level qualifications: E in 3 A-Level subjects OR E in 2 A-Level and 2 AS-Level subjects;

For those who are applying on the basis of International Baccalaureate (IB): a minimum score of 24 with at least grade 4 in 2 Higher Level (HL) subjects;

For those who are applying on the basis of other qualifications: an appropriate Diploma passed with credit or an appropriate Higher Certificate from a recognised institution; an appropriate Associate Degree / Higher Diploma from a recognised institution; holder of other non-local qualifications (please refer to our Guidelines on Non-local Qualifications for more details about our general requirements for such qualifications)
