Overview

This Aviation Engineering (Honours) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University aims to provide students and produce highly skilled graduates with:

  • In-depth understanding of aviation engineering including aircraft and aviation systems, aircraft design, certification and airworthiness, airline and airport engineering, plus specialized skills in a chosen elective stream of study;
  • Competence to handle a wide variety of engineering challenges in a methodological, technical and practical manner as applied to the aviation industry;
  • Knowledge and skills to efficiently and effectively manage aviation engineering projects; and
  • Professional aviation communication skill and social responsibility towards the society and the environment.

Career

Graduates will be able to seek employment as professional engineers in aviation engineering fields including aircraft component design, manufacturing and maintenance organizations, in air transportation and logistics organizations, airport engineering operation, and civil aviation authorities.

General Requirements

A High School (Graduation) Diploma and any one of the following:

  • ACT: Composite score of 24
  • AP: Grade 3 in 2 AP subjects
  • Redesigned SAT: Total score of 1190
  • SAT: Combined score of 1650, with a sub-score of 8 in essay writing
  • GCE A-level/International A-level: Passes in 3 AL subjects/2 AL and 2 AS subjects
  • IB: A minimum score of 24 with at least grade 4 in 2 Higher Level subjects
