Programme Aims & Learning Outcomes
Drawing on the wide range of building and real estate subjects on offer, the programme provides broad based and interdisciplinary education in the context of property and housing management, and facilities and corporate asset management.
Graduates of the Property Management (Honours) programme of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University are all-rounders who can understand and work with the interplay between social, economic, political, legal, technological and commercial issues and problems.
Programme Characteristics
Students have close contact with the industry through guest lectures, professional studies and property management workshops.
A Study Exchange Programme with overseas universities such as Loughborough University (UK), the Queensland University of Technology (Australia) and University of Florida (USA) provides students with opportunities to study abroad.
Career Prospects
Government surveys have repeatedly shown that there will be sustainable growth in the demand for property management services in the foreseeable future. There is great demand for property managers in housing estates and in retail and commercial buildings in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and the region.
The surveys have shown that many employers strongly prefer degree or professional qualifications for their employees at the managerial/professional level.
