The Investment Science and Finance Analytics (Honours) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is designed to develop students’ ability in quantitative analysis, data analytics, critical thinking and communication skills that enable our graduates to pursue careers in business and finance-related fields such as investment banking, fund management, risk management and financial product development and pricing.

In addition to the finance-related fields, our programme also supports graduates pursuing careers in information technology, scientific-research, education, marketing and consultancy. Many of our graduates have found employment in prestigious financial institutions and renowned corporations throughout the Asia Pacific area.

Programme Structure

  • Year One: Students study the General University Requirement (GUR) subjects, common science subjects and foundation mathematics and statistics.
  • Year Two: Students study Compulsory Subjects in mathematics, statistics and finance.
  • Years Three and Four: Students study advanced subjects in investment science, finance analytics and computer science, including Elective Subjects.

A High School (Graduation) Diploma and any one of the following:

  • ACT: Composite score of 24
  • AP: Grade 3 in 2 AP subjects
  • Redesigned SAT: Total score of 1190
  • SAT: Combined score of 1650, with a sub-score of 8 in essay writing
  • GCE A-level/International A-level: Passes in 3 AL subjects/2 AL and 2 AS subjects
  • IB: A minimum score of 24 with at least grade 4 in 2 Higher Level subjects
