Overview
The Music program of the An-Najah National University includes a variety of courses in Arabic and western music using the modern technologies in teaching, and provides opportunities for talented students to learn and perform on various musical instruments, participation in choirs and singing and some skills in modern music arranging techniques.
The program also achieves and use a new patterns of creativity (performing, singing, composing, and music arranging) in a new window enriches music education applied fields.
Industry
The programme aims at:
- Promoting the musical culture and raising awareness of music in the Palestinian community.
- Providing the local community with qualified graduates who are able to teach music education at all educational stages from kindergarten to university.
- Providing the local community with graduates trained to play different musical instruments such as Oud, Violin, Piano, Flute, Guitar and Org.
- Providing the local community with graduates who are able to form musical bands, choruses or corals
- Promoting music and upgrading musicians status in the Palestinian community.
Career Opportunities
There are many employment opportunities available for the graduates of the musicology department including:
- Teaching.
Where the largest majority of the musicology department graduates working in the field of teaching music education in public and private schools in all levels at home and abroad.
- Musical instruments teaching.
Some of the graduates work in private musical centers to teach kids how to play on variety of musical instruments through private musical sessions.
- Singing.
Some graduates take up singing as a profession, whether individually or in groups.
- Performing.
Some graduates enrolled in private music bands and play with them.
- Composing.
A Few of the graduates had the opportunity to involve in the field of music composition in all styles .
- Music Arranging.
A few of the graduates work in the field of music arranging and orchestration.

General requirements
For students who would like to undertake a course (one subject) or an Academic semester (several courses during one academic semester) the procedure is as following:
- Browse the academic programs which are offered, read carefully the courses which are intended,
- Please note that An-Najah University is not responsible for credit transferee to your national academic system. Thus you should transfer these in advance at your home institution.
- Once your selection is clear, you can contact the international relations office in order to process your application inside the university.
- Once you receive the admission confirmation letter you can start obtaining the visa and travel documents, and come to An-Najah.
- After finishing your study, you will be provided by certification documents in English language only, assigned with course/courses description that are needed to support your admission and credit transfer at your home institution.
