Overview
The Chemical Engineering department offers a four-year program which is sufficiently general to prepare the graduate for all phases of the chemical industry, whether in development or research.
Learning Objectives
The undergraduate program of Bachelor of Science (BS) in Applied Chemical Engineering is designed to graduate students who are expected to attain (within a few years) of graduation the following PEOs:
- Achieve a successful career in the oil, gas, petrochemical, desalination, energy and other process industries.
- Integrate their academic preparation with chemical engineering practice, innovation and technology development.
- Pursue a graduate degree in chemical engineering or other related fields.
- Pursue leadership roles in industry, business, and governmental agencies.

General requirements
- The applicant must be a high school graduate (General, Computer Science and Engineering, Health and Life) or international school graduate (Natural Sciences) in the current year or the previous year.
- A minimum SAT score of 1350 is required to apply. Meeting the minimum score does not ensure admission. Admissions are competitive.
- SAT scores must be directly sent to King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals from the SAT Test Center.
- An English language proficiency test is mandatory. Applicants should score at least 55 in the STEP test or its equivalent in TOEFL or IELTS.
