Overview

Graduates of the Health Information Management program from  Manipal Academy of Higher Education , work in a broad range of settings that span the continuum of healthcare including hospitals, physician practices, nursing homes, home health agencies, long term care facilities, and public health agencies.

Upon completion of the program the students will be able to: 

• Conceptualise and promote the need for and uses of quality data and information requirements across the patient care providers

• Organise, analyse and manage health care data in order to improve health care outcomes, implement standards and control costs

• Manage the content, integrity, accessibility, use, and protection of information resources

• Adapt to multiple roles and work settings with use of new set of skills

• Accurately implement and manage applications and processes for clinical classification and coding

• Analyse and respond to the information needs of internal and external agencies throughout the health care continuum
