Besides teaching basics of the economic theory to develop economic understanding at the international standards, the general structure of the program has enough flexibility to permit interdisciplinary feedback from different programs by allowing its students to take courses from Political Science and International Relations and Business Administration programs.

Thus the students of the Economics program at Middle East Technical University, Northern Cyprus Campus will develop an extensive economic understanding as well as a general comprehension of social and administrativ sciences.

Career Opportunities

Turkish government institutions and public organizations like the Ministry of Finance, Central Bank, Undersecretariat of Treasury, State Planning Organization, Undersecretariat Foreign Trade, Turkish Statistical Institute, Competition Authority, Capital Markets Board, Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, and international institutions like the World Bank, IMF, and FAO are examples of potential job opportunities. In general a wide variety of private sector jobs especially the ones in the banking and financial sector will be available for our graduates.
