Overview

Our curriculum is supportive of comprehensive growth and development in Palestine. The Nursing department at Birzeit University aims to play a leading role in the education of its students, in order to increase the quality of the health care system in Palestine, along with increasing the quality of the academic level using diverse techniques in research, education, training, and services.

Objectives

Preparation of a specialized nursing workforce that is able to play advanced roles in the care of patients that suffer from different diseases and illnesses, deal with the symptoms of these patients, and give high quality health care services within the Palestinian health sectors.
Advancing the nursing profession towards the development of critical thinking and problem solving, with concentration on the new role of nursing internationally.
Educate nurses theoretically and clinically; this will enable them to give high quality and comprehensive care to patients and their families.
Preparation of a nursing workforce that can work in hospitals and health centers locally, regionally, and internationally.
Provide the necessary training to work in all types of health sectors in the Palestinian community.
Enhance students’ scientific research skills.
Advancement of presenting health awareness for the individual and its family.
Graduation of committed nurses to the ethics of the nursing profession and are able to develop the profession locally and internationally.

Completion of secondary schooling in the country where the student obtained an education

Pass in six subjects, one of which is High Level and five of which are Standard/Subsidiary Level

Obtaining a minimum total of 21 points out of 42 points

Pass points in the High Level are 3-7 and in the Subsidiary Level 2-7 (if a student sits or two subjects or more in the High Level, the additional subject is considered as Subsidiary in the calculation of points and the basis of pass.)
