The rapid advancements in today’s technologies—such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data, and Blockchain—have placed Software Engineering among the top professions of both today and the future.

Our department offers undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programmes with a qualified academic staff, continuing its educational and research activities. The PhD programme at Atilim University is one of only two universities in Turkiye that offers doctoral-level education in this field.

In our department, while there is a comprehensive focus on the fundamental phases of software (such as analysis, design, development, and testing) and related methodologies, education is also provided in specialized areas such as Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Software Quality Assurance, Software Requirements Engineering, Software Design and Architecture, Software Project Management, Software Testing, and Model-Driven Software Development.

The curriculum of Software Engineering programme from Atilim University is designed to produce graduates who are capable of contributing to every stage of large-scale software development projects in line with the needs of the software industry. Our Software Engineering Department is accredited by MÜDEK until September 30, 2030, and has earned the EUR-ACE label, which is recognized across Europe. Thanks to this label, our graduates gain a significant advantage when applying to postgraduate programmes and entering professional environments within European Union countries.

Outcome

Adequate knowledge in mathematics, science, and software engineering subjects pertaining to the relevant discipline; ability to use theoretical and applied knowledge in these areas in the solution of complex engineering problems.

Ability to formulate, and solve complex engineering problems; ability to select and apply proper analysis and modeling methods for this purpose.

Ability to design a complex system, process, device, or product under realistic constraints and conditions, in such a way as to meet the desired result; ability to apply modern design methods for this purpose.

Ability to select and use modern techniques and tools needed for analyzing and solving complex problems encountered in software engineering practice; ability to employ information technologies effectively.

Original diplomas, transcripts and their certified translations into Turkish or English.

Original copies of equivalency certificates, if available (High School Equivalency Certificate shall be obtained from the Ministry of National Education by the candidates who are accepted to undergraduate programmes).

Original copy of the internationally recognized English Proficiency Certificates for the candidates accepted to programmes that require English language proficiency (To be certified by Atilim University School of Foreign Languages).

Original copy of the Turkish Proficiency Certificate for the candidates accepted to the programmes that require Turkish language proficiency.
