In the final two years of your chemistry degree, you’ll tailor your study to specialise in the areas that reflect your interests and career aspirations. You’ll also undertake an exciting individual research project.
After the Course
University of East Anglia 's Chemistry (Hons) degrees provide the skills that employers are looking for – high level subject knowledge combined with problem solving, IT, analytical skills, instrumentation, time management, organisation, and team and individual work.
Many of our graduates secure positions in emerging chemistry industries, such as Iceni Diagnostics (a UEA spin off company developing lateral flow test technology, including for Covid-19), and leading pharmaceutical companies (Glaxo SmithKline, AkzoNobel or Sanofi), chemical and advanced technology companies (Johnson Matthey, Dell or British Airways) with roles in research, management, product development and quality control.

- BBB or ABC including Chemistry, or BBC including Chemistry with an A in the Extended Project
- DDM in BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science or Applied Science (Medical Science). Excludes BTEC Public Services, BTEC Uniformed Services, BTEC Business Administration or BTEC Forensic Science
- AABBB including Chemistry
- CCC to include Chemistry
- 2 subjects at H2 and 4 subjects at H3, including Chemistry
- Pass the Access to HE Diploma with Merit in 45 credits at Level 3, including 12 credits of Chemistry
- Overall 70% with at least 70% in Chemistry
- 31 points including HL Chemistry at 5
- You are required to have Mathematics and English Language at a minimum of Grade C or Grade 4 or above at GCSE.
