At Accademia del Lusso we believe in the unique creativity of each individual. Our teachers, all expert working professionals within the sector, will give you the correct technical skills needed to design and create successful fashion products from beginning to end, whilst nurturing your originality and encouraging you in your identity as a designer.

Here, right at the heart of Italy’s undisputed fashion capital Milan, you will be enabled to develop your personal expression within a setting that is an unending source of inspiration and influence, alongside students from Italy and across the globe.

You will gain on- and offline trend research techniques, learning to anticipate future trends and to work in line with the concept and market demands. 

Practical workshops will teach you a range of essential skills such as fashion sketching and drawing, understanding fabrics, patternmaking and tailoring, how to use colour, sizing, using CAD for 2D and 3D patternmaking, and designing your own set of fashion prints. You will develop collections for womenswear, menswear, sportswear, knitwear, accessories, childrenswear, underwear, and swimwear.

During the Fashion Design programme offered by Accademia del Lusso Milan there is a focus on the importance of sustainable fashion. You will learn about eco-friendly materials and production processes, including the respect of human rights in the textile industry; aimed at learning to create fashion products in a responsible way.

General Requirements

  • Upper secondary school qualification
  • Suitable knowledge of English or Italian: demonstrated by a formal certificate or Skype language interview.
  • Non-native English speakers are required to take a test of English as a Foreign Language in order to validate the European Bachelor. This test may be taken after completion of the course, but it is a strict requirement.
