Information and Communication Technology, B.Sc.

In ICT developments go very fast. New ideas and products may continue to exist, but may also quickly become “out of date”. In ICT the future is always changing.We therefore offer you the basic ICT knowledge you can rely on in your future career. The Information and Communication Technology programme is offered by Fontys University of Applied Sciences.


In the first year you follow courses and projects in three study programs. In the first semester you will focus on basic ICT related subjects; from the second semester you will focus on more subjects relates to either ICT & Software Engineering, ICT & Business or ICT & Technology. In the second year you will spend 3 days of classes in your chosen study program and 2 days in 1 or 2 specializations of your choice. You will also work on projects offered by ICT companies. At the end of the second year, you can decide what your final specialization will be. In the third year you will do your first internship for six months. The last semester of the fourth year will be your graduation semester in a company. All classes are offered in English. The  The Information and Communication Technology programme by Fontys University of Applied Sciences has a total number of around 600 international students.

Programme Structure

After the first semester you make a choice for a study program. You can choose from:

  • ICT & Business
  • ICT & Software Engineering
  • ICT & Technology

After the second semester next to your chosen study program you will choose 1 or 2 exciting specializations.These specializations cover the latest developments in ICT. Fontys ICT has developed an intensive cooperation with more than 60 leading ICT companies in the region. This cooperation results in the latest ICT developments and if required leading to new specializations. So are you sure that your ICT study program is always up to date and fits in well with what employers expect from you as an ICT graduate.

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00. Academic Requirements

General Requirements

  • For Dutch students: VWO-, HAVO- or MBO-diploma with mathematics
  • For students of other nationalities: senior high school diploma / GCE or equivalent e.g. the British GCE A-levels or GCSE grades A, B or C. Requirements: at least 6 exam subjects. Minimum for the examinee subjects is 4 GCSE subjects with grades A*, A, B or C and 2 GCE subjects at A/S Level (no specific grade required). A/S Level means advanced subsidiary level (previously advanced supplementary level). Mathematics must be taken at GCE level AND part of examinee subjects.
  • For students with international Baccalaureate, the French Baccalaureat or the American High School (top stream or plus 1 year college)

Excellent non-EU students who start their education (first enrolment) at one of the FTB-Bachelor programs (Eindhoven) from September 2018 are offered a Top-Talent Scholarship of € 2.100,- or € 3000
