About

The Information and Communication Technology programme of Fontys University of Applied Sciences is a 4-year English taught study programme and is leading to the international Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree.

Overview

The Information and Communication Technology programme of Fontys University of Applied Sciences has strong links with the ICT work field and an intensive collaboration with more than 100 companies. After you graduate you have all the ICT knowledge and skills you need to perform well in your future professional career. Hopefully the start of an excellent career in Eindhoven Brainport region.

Study structure and curriculum

In the first year you follow courses and projects in five study programmes. In the first semester you will focus on basic ICT related subjects, and go more indepth in one of the five programmes; from the second semester you will focus on more subjects related to either ICT & Technology, ICT & Software Engineering, ICT & Business, ICT & Media Design or ICT & Infrastructure. In the second year you will spend 3 days of classes in your chosen study programme and 2 days in 1 or 2 specialisations of your choice. At the end of the second year, you can decide what your final specialisation will be. In the third year you will do your first internship for six months. The last semester of the fourth year will be your graduation semester in a company. All classes are offered in English. The study programme ICT has a total number of around 600 international students.

General requirements

  • For Dutch students: VWO-, HAVO- or MBO-diploma with mathematics
  • For students of other nationalities: senior high school diploma / GCE or equivalent e.g. the British GCE A-levels or GCSE grades A, B or C. Requirements: at least 6 exam subjects. Minimum for the examinee subjects is 4 GCSE subjects with grades A*, A, B or C and 2 GCE subjects at A/S Level (no specific grade required). A/S Level means advanced subsidiary level (previously advanced supplementary level). Mathematics must be taken at GCE level AND part of examinee subjects.
  • For students with international Baccalaureate, the French Baccalaureat or the American High School (top stream or plus 1 year college)
