They are equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge about mathematics, teaching mathematics, teaching and learning theories, curriculum development, measurement and assessment, educational research, and educational and school system.

Teacher candidates are given opportunities to improve their skills in their area of interest by taking elective courses offered by other programs. They may apply for double major and minor degree in different programs. They may also apply for student exchange program (ERASMUS) for one-semester and take courses from a university in Europe. The Teaching Elementary Mathematics program is offered at Yeditepe University.

The graduates work as elementary mathematics teachers at either private or public schools.
