Mission Statement
The mission of the Electrical Engineering degree program at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) is to promote and maintain excellence in teaching and learning to equip students with strong core competencies in electrical engineering and empower them with the skills required for successful professional careers.
The electrical engineering degree program promotes and enhances faculty expertise in research and development towards providing technical solutions for social challenges and community advancement through outreach activities and networking with regional and international organizations.
Accreditation
Testifying to its academic quality, our 140-credit Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is accredited both by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, in the United States.

General requirements
- Must be awarded the full IB Diploma with six subjects (excluding Islamic Education) with at least three in the higher level, and attain a minimum score of 24 points.
- Applicants who were not awarded the IB Diploma but received the IB certificate can apply and will be assessed based on the provided high school credentials.
