The Elementary Education program at University of St. Martin empowers future teachers to deliver the proper knowledge, skills, and values that will nurture the whole child — morally, intellectually, physically, socially, and aesthetically.
The BAE facilitates the creation of a new generation of teachers trained to serve the 21st-century educational system.
The BAE program is a four-year bachelor’s level program that falls under the University of Virgin Islands UVI@USM division. Students are admitted into the USM Teacher Education Program based on USM requirements before earning admission into the UVI@USM Teacher Education Program (TEP).
The BAE program encompasses:
— Training on the core curriculum of the elementary school of St. Maarten— Early clinical practice of candidate teacher— Professionalization of the candidate teacher— 30 credit courses from UVI during 3rd year and 4th yearProgramme Structure
