Overview

Information Systems and Technology from University of the Virgin Islands combines theoretical foundation with hands-on practical experiences to provide students with a comprehensive academic technology experience that prepares them to be successful in the ever-evolving digital economy. This flexible program includes six (6) credits of elective courses that may be applied to accommodate the personal and professional interests of each student offering the opportunity and flexibility to integrate IST theories and practice with their academic area(s) of interest.

Students at Information Systems and Technology from University of the Virgin Islands will:

Create web and mobile software applications;

Apply email marketing, social media, and other E-Business/E-Commerce skills and knowledge to create and maintain brands on the world-wide web;

Develop a physical database based on a logical data model within the context of commercial Database Management Software (DBMS);

Analyze and design contemporary information systems;

Collect, organize and analyze data to support sound decision-making;

Manage and document projects in information systems and technology.
