Overview
The Fine Arts programme of Royal Academy of Art, The Hague centres on the enmeshment of theory, research, and practice - emphasising critical speculative reflections on art and its role in our societies and future(s).
Therefore, you are encouraged to work across disciplines with ongoing practice to experiment, research, reflect, and contextualise your work. With the focused guidance of our tutors and workshop staff (and a range of guests and visiting experts), you develop and push your art making through peer reviews, project presentations, critiques, and tutorials.
You can obtain the degree in two different ways: by following the full-time programme or the Amalgam part-time programme.
Part-time programme
The BA Fine Arts part-time programme, also called Amalgam, is a new educational path where non-artistic and artistic approaches merge in a trajectory intended for participants who already have established professional and/or life experience. This study is designed to be combined with a part-time job or occupation, with classes two days per week. Applicants should be interested in collaborative outcomes.
