Overview
Accredited professionally by the Hong Kong Social Work ers Registration Board (HKSWRB), the programme in Social Work at The Chinese University of Hong Kong provides theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as analytical skills related to social work, at both the micro level (e.g. intervention skills training) and macro level (e.g. social policy advocacy) through a wide variety of teaching and learning activities, including lectures, tutorials, role plays, community-based learning, experiential learning and a practicum.
Career Prospects
- Our Social Work programme offers experiential learning beyond the classroom, including overseas placements and study-abroad opportunities. We emphasizes theory-practice integration with a solid knowledge foundation and diverse placement opportunities. Graduates have a strong academic grounding and versatile practical skills, allowing them to thrive in different fields of social work practice. In past years, more than 90% of our graduates entered the social service sector. The remaining graduates chose a variety of careers in the education sector or public administration, or pursued advanced studies.
