The first half of the study year and the second study year of the Mathematics program at University of Primorska are mainly devoted to the learning and consolidation of the fundamentals of analysis, algebra, discrete mathematics and numerical computing.

Along the way, students will learn a set of computer skills and the basics of probability theory. Within the labour market for the financial sector, the latter represents an important advantage for mathematics students versus students who come from management-/economy-oriented studies. Moreover, the computer-oriented courses, along with computer-oriented ways of thinking that an individual develops while studying mathematics, provide a good foundation for employment in programming and related companies.
