Overview
You will develop a range of highly important skills for the event industry from financial decision making and event operations management to marketing public relations and client management. And to maximise your employability, you will spend 10 weeks working in industry.
Accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) this is one of the few event management courses in the UK that allows you to gain the CMI Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management as part of your degree.
The Business and Management (Event Management) (Hons) course from University of South Wales is a specialist route within our BA (Hons) Business and Management. Applications for this course should be made through UCAS using UCAS code N201. You will then be given the opportunity to select one of the specialist routes during the first year of the course.

Whilst the Event Management degree has been designed to prepare you to work in the event sector, you’ll also gain business skills transferable to any job. These include communication, managing people and teams, project management, health and safety, risk assessment, and marketing, to name but a few.

- The first year covers contemporary management challenges. As it is shared across all our business courses, you'll have the flexibility to transfer to another course if you decide you want to pursue another area, such as marketing or supply chain management.
- Year two takes a practical look at the theoretical concepts presented during the first year and provides an opportunity to engage in work-based learning through our industry internship scheme.
- Year three will integrate your academic knowledge and develop a deep understanding of the inter-disciplinary nature of business.
