Description
The Hesburgh-Yusko Scholars Program, a part of the Notre Dame Scholars' Program, is a comprehensive, merit-based scholarship and leadership-development program that seeks to attract, encourage, and equip extraordinary students who will have a transformational effect on the Notre Dame community, the Church, and the world.

Benefits
An annual award of $25,000 toward the cost of tuition for up to four years of undergraduate study, for a total of $100,000. This award is independent of any financial aid that a scholar may qualify for and receive.
Four fully-funded Summer Enrichment Experiences: Wilderness Leadership, Social Justice, Global Inquiry, and Professional Venture. During these summers, scholars travel the world, discover new interests, identify true passions, refine lifelong pursuits, and lay the groundwork for their future careers.
Intellectual engagement within a community of scholars.
Guidance, support, and advice from a dedicated Program staff and faculty mentors.
Eligibility
- Outstanding academic achievement.
- Commitment to service.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Exemplary moral character.
- Open to students from any college or major
- Full-time undergraduate enrollment.
- Maintenance of good academic and disciplinary standing. If a scholar is subject to academic or disciplinary probation or dismissal, they will automatically lose their scholarship and status as a scholar and will not be reconsidered.
- University merit scholarship consideration is given for a maximum of eight semesters (ten semesters for the five-year Architecture program). Scholarship eligibility is not extended to account for any semester(s) the scholar did not meet scholarship requirements.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions identifies outstanding candidates for HYSP. To be eligible for consideration, a student must apply for admission to the University of Notre Dame in either Restrictive Early Action with a complete application by November 1, or in Regular Decision with a complete application by January 1.
