Description
The Meyerhoff Scholars Program has been at the forefront of efforts to increase diversity among future leaders in science, engineering, and related fields.
Benefits
Meyerhoff Scholars receive four-year scholarships.
In-State: $5,000 – $15,000 (award range per year)
Out-of-State: $10,000 – $22,000 (award range per year)
Per academic year, to assist in covering tuition, mandatory fees, and other expenses.
Eligibility
Students must meet all eligibility requirements:
- Minimum of 600 on the Math component of the SAT or a composite score of 24 on the ACT (if provided – as the Meyerhoff Program adheres to UMBC’s test requirement guidelines)
- Cumulative High School GPA of a 3.0 or above
- Aspire to obtain a Ph.D. or the combined M.D./Ph.D. in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Display commitment to community service
- Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States

Application deadline
To begin the application process, students should first complete and submit the UMBC CommonApp. Five to seven business days after submission of the CommonApp, applicants will receive UMBC credentials (user name and password) allowing them to access the Meyerhoff Application in UMBC Scholarship Retriever.
