Description

This Bursary is to support undergraduate applicants for a single or joint honours course in the Department of Welsh and Celtic Studies.

Benefits

The Bursary is worth £500 during the first year of study.

A maximum of two awards are available each year.

Eligibility

  • The Bursary is open to first language and second language Welsh speakers, and also to complete beginners, and is available to those studying full or part time.

Please submit one of the following to be considered by the Waldo Williams Bursary Panel:

An essay on any aspect of Waldo Williams’ creative work (no more than 1,500 words)

An essay on any aspect of pacifism (no more than 1,500 words)

A collection of creative work related to the subject ‘peace’ or ‘pacifism’, or which responds directly to Waldo Williams’ creative work (no more than 1,500 words or 5 poems)

Translation to Welsh of literary works which convey a message of pacifism (no more than 1,500 words or 50 lines of poetry). Complete beginners to the Welsh language may submit English translations of the relevant literary works.
