Description
This scholarship was established by generous donations from Marcia and Peter Carpenter 1956, in order to support students from the Scotland and the Rest of the UK in their studies in Science or Medicine at St Andrews.
The scholarship forms part of the Wardlaw Scholarship scheme, established in 2004 to provide financial assistance to academically gifted students who would otherwise struggle with the cost of studying at the University of St Andrews.
Benefits
£4,400 paid as maintenance but can be used towards University accommodation fees.
Maintenance is paid in ten monthly instalments directly to your bank account (BACS) from September to May, with a double payment in February.
Where maintenance is payable on this award you can choose to off-set all or part of your maintenance towards University accommodation during matriculation (registration).
Eligibility
- Selection is based on financial need and donor-specific criteria.
- If you are care experienced and unable to provide household evidence, please upload a document that states this. You do not need to upload evidence of your care experience, if this has already been provided to Admissions.
- If you are an asylum seeker and are unable to provide household evidence, please upload evidence confirming your official Home Office status.
- You must apply to the University for funding, giving complete and accurate information before the deadline. Late applications will not be considered.
