Description
The RAU Bursary (Stream 2) offers financial help to eligible undergraduate students for the duration of studies.
Benefits
Full-time students will receive £3,500 for each year of undergraduate study up to a maximum of £10,500. Part-time payments are pro rata
Bursary is payable in three instalments each year in autumn, spring and summer
Students awarded a RAU Bursary (Stream 2) are not exempted from applying for an additional award
Eligibility
To be eligible for this bursary, you must:
- Be a UK student, resident in England or Wales and entering into your first year of an undergraduate degree course. Please note, this bursary is not available to students entering on a Foundation year leading to a three year degree course
- Be entitled to funding for fees and living costs from the relevant Student Finance body and have taken out the full loan for 2026/27
- Have a household income of £42,875 or less as assessed by the relevant Student Finance body
You must also meet a minimum of one of the following:
- Care leaver
- To live in a UK postcode identified as having low progression to higher education according to the Government’s IMD (Index of Multiple Deprivation)

Application deadline
There is no need to complete an application form. Eligibility is assessed by the University using the financial information you have shared with Student Finance England/Wales. As a result, you would need to have your Student Finance loan approved by 15 August 2026.
