Description

The Ray L. Watts Endowed Engineering Scholarship at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is made possible by a generous gift from Ray L. Watts, M.D., and Nancy P. Watts. The scholarship will be used to assist deserving students who are enrolled in the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the School of Engineering.

Eligibility

Recipients of the Ray L. Watts Endowed Scholarship in Engineering will be selected from applicants meeting the following eligibility requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in or admitted to a degree-granting program in the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the School of Engineering
  • Preference will be given to applicants who both demonstrate solid academic promise and achievement and have earned at least an overall 3.0 grade point average in coursework completed prior to the time of application and for whom affordability may be an obstacle, and who might otherwise be unable to attend the University

Students interested in these scholarships should complete the BSMART Scholarship Application in the Blazer Scholarship Management and Resource Tool (BSMART). Completing the application submits student information to many departments on campus for scholarship consideration. Undergraduate students can complete the BSMART Scholarship Application beginning August 1.
