Friends and colleagues have made generous gifts to establish the Dr. Murat M. Tanik Endowed Scholarship in Electrical & Computer Engineering at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Eligibility
Recipients of the Dr. Murat M. Tanik Endowed Scholarship in Electrical & Computer Engineering will be selected from applicants meeting the following eligibility requirements:
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in or admitted to a degree-granting program in the UAB School of Engineering Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Applicants should demonstrate solid academic promise and achievement and have earned at least an overall 3.0 grade point average in coursework completed prior to the time of application
- These funds shall provide support to students for whom affordability may be an obstacle and who might otherwise be unable to attend the University.

Students interested in these scholarships should complete the BSMART Scholarship Application in the Blazer Scholarship Management and Resource Tool (BSMART). Completing the application submits student information to many departments on campus for scholarship consideration. Undergraduate students can complete the BSMART Scholarship Application beginning August 1.
