Description
The Santa Singh and Balwant Kaur Scholarship is generously supported by Pretam Kaur in honour of her parents’ commitment to the education of women, and provides financial support and encouragement to Indigenous and recent refugee women pursuing undergraduate studies at Monash University.
Benefits
The scholarship is $8,000 per annum (48 credit points of study), paid until the minimum points for your degree are completed.
Eligibility
You must meet the following criteria:
- A commencing or continuing undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) student enrolled at a Monash campus in Australia.
Identify as female:
- Asylum Seeker/Refugee or HUMV OR
- An Indigenous Australian
Consideration will be given to students from one or more of Monash University’s defined equity or personal disadvantage groups (for domestic students only):
- from regional and remote areas of Australia
- experiencing financial disadvantage
- have a disability or long-term medical condition
- experiencing difficult circumstances
For Indigenous students to be eligible you must provide a Confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Heritage certificate or a certified Statutory Declaration form to the William Cooper Institute.
