The Statistics program offered by The University of the West Indies also allows students to minor or double-major in complementary disciplines such as Demography and Economics with provides applications of the statistical techniques acquired.
Graduates from this programme are equipped to pursue higher degrees in Social and Business Statistics as well as areas requiring strong quantitative and statistical skills such as demography, finance, and business analytics.
Our programme aims to:
- Teach students the theoretical and practical skills needed in the world of data analysis.
- Develop students’ statistical understanding so that they will be able to infer useful information from data in any field.
- Develop students appreciation for both the power and limitations of statistical information.

General requirements
Five CXC (with grades I, II or III) or GCE O’ Level passes in Mathematics and English Language plus three other subjects.
CAPE (Units 1 and 2) or GCE A’ Level passes in at least two subjects.
- An Associate degree, Diploma and/or Certificate from other approved tertiary institutions having attained a B+ average or a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- High School Grade 12 transcript with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum SAT I score of 1700 plus a minimum of two (2) SAT II subjects at a score of 500 or above or successful completion of Advanced Placement Courses or the International Baccalaureate programme.
